The REV-201 modifications

Maximizing the advantages of microprocessor-controlled technology three modifications on the base of the standard REV-201 relay are developed on order and according to RFP of specific users. Circuitry remains practically unchanged. Special program for microprocessor is created for each modification. Electric diagram of the device is not altered.

I.

This modification of the relay is designed for the prestart alarm system of production equipment including mining-concentrating complexes. The mode of operation is following: «preliminary signal before cut-in – pause – signal – installation cut-in».

The relay has two channels. When power is applied to the relay it provides different operation logic for two output channels.

Each channel has a group of two-way break-before-make contacts in the output: channel 1 has the « 1-2-3 » contacts, channel 2 has the « 4-5-6 » contacts.

After supply voltage is applied to the REV-201 the following occurs:

  • the «2-3» contacts of the first channel close;
  • preliminary alarm signal sounds with fixed delay 1;
  • the «2-3» output contacts of the 1st channel open for fixed time of the pause (time delay 2);
  • the «2-3» contacts of the 1st channel close;
  • the signal resounds with fixed delay 3;
  • the «2-3» contacts of the 1st channel open and the «5-6» contacts of the 2nd channel close.

Program blocking of the relay forbids the 2nd channel to trip (i. e. to close the «5-6» contacts) as long as the «2-3» contacts of the 1st channel remain closed.

In order to provide the additional blocking between the channels it’s recommended to connect the «1-2» contacts of the 1st channel into supply circuit of the production equipment actuator and to connect the «4-5» contacts of the 2nd channel into supply circuit of the alarm device.

Note:The operation algorithm « start-pause-start» and fixed time delays can be changed, on request.

II.

This modificationpractically replicates the standard REV-201 model but provides different time delays for the channels:

For the 1st channel the time delay range is from 0 to 10 sec;

For the 2nd channel the time delay range is from 0 to 10 min.

Each channel represents the independent time relay. The time delay for each channel begins when power is applied to this channel.

III.

The present modification has the same front panel as the previous one.

The modification provides such mode of operation as «adjustable time delay-on-power supply (in the0-10 sec range) –energization (in the0-1 sec range) –a wait state --reset».

The relay has two channels. Each channel represents the independent time relay. A time delay for each channel begins when power is applied to the channel. The relay operation cycle is «delay – energization – the wait state».

Operation

A time delay for each channel begins when power is applied to the «L1-N» contacts (the 1st channel) and the «L2-N» contacts (the 2nd channel). Each channel has a group of two-way break-before-make contacts in the output. These are the « 1-2-3 » contacts for the 1st channel and the « 4-5-6 » contacts for the 2nd channel.

Time delay-on-make is set by the arms of potentiometers in the0-10sec range for the 1st and the 2nd channels respectively (pause).

After time delay-on-make has expired the «2-3» contacts of the 1st channel and the «5-6» contacts of the 2nd channel close for the time set by both potentiometers in the0-1sec range. After the energization period has expired the «2-3» contacts of the 1st channel and the «5-6» contacts of the 2nd channel open and the relay goes into the wait conditions.

The relay operation cycle repeats when the power is removed and re-applied to the relay.

The green LED of the corresponding channel glows when supply voltage is present on the channel. The green LED is signalling that the time delay begins. The red LED of the corresponding channel indicates that the relay has tripped when the time delay expired.

IV.

Periodic energization/de-energization time relay is the fourth REV-201 modification .

This relay is designed to energize a load for the specified time and to de-energize this load for the pause time. The energization time and the pause time are adjustable. The pause can be regulated in the 150sec – 4hours time range, the enrgization can be regulated in the 150 sec – 10 hours time range.

These relays are made in the case of the standard REV-201 model.

Operation

Each channel operates independently. When power is applied to the relay (a channel) a time delay begins. The time delay is set by the upper potentiometer in the 150sec – 4 hours time range where the scale is linear. The position of contacts remains the same. When the time delay has expired the position of contacts changes: the 2-3 (the 5-6) contacts close, the 1-2 (4-5) open and the time delay set by the lower potentiometer (in the 150 sec – 10 hours time range, the scale is linear) begins. After the time delay referred to above has expired the contacts return to their start position and the recycling takes place: the time delay set by the upper potentiometer begins and so on.

The relay restarts after voltage has been removed and re-applied to the relay again.

The rest of the parameters correspond to the ones of the standard REV-201 model.

When the channels work in parallel they must use the common neutral. Timing chart for this modification is shown below.
