PS-220/12-2,5
D. C. Power Supply

The PS-220/12-2,5 D. C. power supply is designed to provide uninterrupted D. C. voltage service for industrial devices and systems.

The PS-220/12-2,5 unit provides a battery charge capacity up to 4A•h in a floating service when a voltage in the mains exists and a load current is 0.6A. The unit provides the battery protection from deep discharge. The PS-220 is equipped with a conductively isolated output for the alarm system that cuts-in on the mains of 220 V A.C. failure.

3. Pre-starting procedure

3.1. Connect the PS to the battery (observing the polarity), to the mains of 220V A.C. and to a load observing the polarity, plug-in the PS as shown on fig.1.

4. Buffer voltage setting

4.1. After the PS has been connected one needs to apply the mains of 220V A.C., to connect the voltmeter to the battery terminals for D.C. voltage measurement and by the input voltage regulator with a screwdriver to set a floating service voltage that is recommended for the given battery type. It cannot exceed 14V D.C. Then the PS is ready for service.

5. The PS operation

5.1. On a.c. mains of 220V A.C. presence the battery is charged from the PS, "POWER" and "OUT" LEDs glow.

5.2. On a.c. mains of 220V A.C. failure ("POWER" LED doesn't glow, "OUT" LED glows) the load voltage will be dropping approximately from the buffer value level to 10V (the battery- off threshold). After the accumulator voltage has reached 10V (9,94 - 10,05V), the battery cuts-out from the load ("OUT" LED doesn't glow).

5.3. To re-start the accumulator operation after it has been cut-out the mains of 220V A.C. presence is required.

5.4. Operation of unlimited numbers of the PSs connected in parallel is possible.

5.5. The PS can operate under continuous condition within service life.

FEATURES

  • operation of unlimited numbers of the PS power supplies connected in parallel for power augmentation is available;
  • there are very low-frequency pulsations (0.25% of nominal voltage);
  • high degree of the mains of 220V A. C. output insulation is provided;
  • overvoltage protection is provided;
  • a fine adjustment (±50 mV) of a buffer voltage for a storage battery considerably elongates the SB service life.
